What draws us together romantically and sexually as human beings? Why are some mates preferable to others? What role do senses like smell and vision play in our selection of partners? These are just some of the provocative questions explored by the Seattle Playwrights’ Collective (SPC) in their next short play festival “Mating Games: 9 Short Comedies about Love, Sex, and the Science of Desire”.

The festival runs June 7 – 22 at Annex Theatre and showcases a collection of short plays by local writers that promise to provide audiences with an evening of laughter as they investigate humankind’s most primal of urges.

The show features the directing talents of Julia Griffin, Jen Moon, and Daniel Tarker with design support from Samantha Armitage (Costumes) Angus Maxwell (Lights), Kim Rosin (Set) and an ensemble of actors that include Michael Grant, Erin Herrick, Jana Hutchinson, Anya Marie Johnson, Sarah Milici, MacKenzie Mott, Jesse Putnam, Madison Rengli, Mark Rud, and Brendan Toner.
