Dragons! Giants! Spectres! Demons!

They’re the mainstay of fantasy stories and games, but you know what you just never see? You never see them fighting each other. They’re so overwhelming on their own, two powerful dragons fighting each other is just kinda too much.

Well, we here at Annex Theatre are eager to fill this glaring and obvious gap. To that end, we are pleased to present another Annex Games! stream: Kaiju Battle Arena, a 5th Edition Dungeons and Dragons game of monster vs. monster.

The gods are bored. They’ve done that thing where you mess with mortals’ fates. They’ve dallied with each other until the pizza box lid is indecipherable. They’ve seduced more mortals than you’d care to count. Then one day, one of them said, “Hey, I bet a city-wrecking dragon could beat a catastrophically huge demon,” and another one said, “You wanna put your money where your mouth is?” And lo, they created the Kaiju Battle Arena, and started manifesting giant monsters to fight for their entertainment.

Our bold players will gather, and roll a 20-sided die each. We will consult the Happy Fun List of Big Scary Monsters to see which city-wrecking horror they have selected. Then, they get ten minutes to read through their monster’s stats and strategize, then it’s game on!

What will happen when an ancient red dragon and a kraken face off? What about when you have another ancient dragon and a powerful demon nearby, also itching for action? There’s only one way to find out, and that’s to tune in!

Exert Your Will on the Game

But wait, there’s more! We want you to be part of the game, too! With your dollars, you can donate to support Annex, and affect the game: grant or remove health; cast spells; cause volcanic eruption and healing geysers; summon otherwise-scary but now kinda pesky monsters.

Read more about the Kaiju Complications you can invoke.

Featuring a series of eye-popping maps by some of the leading map-makers in the tabletop role-playing game space and some of Seattle’s favorite D&D-playing theater-makers, this is an event to tune in for!
