Annex Theatre, Seattle's longest-lived fringe theatre company turned 21 years old - and we threw a party to celebrate!

What better way to celebrate 21 amazing years producing "big, cheap theatre" than to throw open the doors to Annex's newest home, the Gail Stellner Theatre, for a not-to-be-missed evening highlighting not only the theatre's illustrious history, but showcasing the work of current company members, as well as providing tantalizing glimpses of upcoming productions and planned space improvements, all in a festive atmosphere where guests and well-wishers can reminisce about Annex's past, and revel in its future!

Annex parties are legend - just ask anyone who attended our raucus, blow-the-doors-out 4th Avenue closing in 2001 - and this one is destined to continue that long and venerable tradition - in a new space, with old friends and colleagues, the newest members of the Annex Company - and you!

From its beginnings on Bainbridge Island in 1986, to opening its doors on 4th Avenue in 1988, to launching its new home at Pike & 11th in 2007, Annex Theatre has championed bold new theater, exuberant new artists, and our own screwball version of democracy. In that time, Annex has showcased the talents of innumerable performers, directors, playwrights, designers and technicians, many of whom have gone on to achieve regional, national, and international acclaim during the company's 21 years of operation.

With an emphasis on creating new work, utilizing creative and innovative methods of production and performance, and providing new opportunities for young and emerging artists to grow and thrive, the Annex Company looks forward to the future, and to the next phase of its "young adulthood".
